Maxtor 3200 Hard Drive failed, gives code 10 and makes soft humm, what should i do?

I dropped my Maxtor 3200 Hard Drive. now it makes a soft humm instead of its ususal whir. I checked in my device manager and it gives me a code 10. The Maxtor website says to buy a replacement(obviously),but i dont want to lose what I have in the drive. Ive heard of the “click of death” but it sounds like something is just stuck, like the motor wont turn.

Then you would have to take it to a recovery specialist and pay a lot of money for them to see “IF” they can retrieve any data from it.
