External Hard Drives!!! Portable External Hard Drive or Desktop External Hard Drive?
I am looking to buy an external hard drive to back up stuff on my laptop and Desktop Computer.
I have a couple of questions:
1) Should I buy a portable hard drive (so only need to use USB – but max space for this is 500GB) or a Desktop Hard Drive (power adaptor needed – and max space for this is 1TB)? I will generally only use it at home to back up things, but the idea of having a portable one seems handy.
Is there such a thing that the power adaptor ones are more reliable ? I just want a reliable one that wont die with all my data on it.
2) Which brand of hard drive do you recommend ? I have been doing some research and it looks like WD is quite good, but then again so is Seagate apparently. There is also a HP one ? Again I just want a reliable brand !
Thank you ![]()
But isnt an adaptor one LESS reliable than a portable one ?
ok,if you looking for reliable, then i suggest you adapter one, i just bought 1 TB Hdd of segate with adapter. i will recommend the same to you.
but again, these things are electronic stuffs, u cant rely on them for forever!!
