What type of Hard Drive enclosure do I need for my Gateway 400 VTX laptop?
My computer crashed, and a tech person recommended a hard drive enclosure USB 2.5 to recover the data. I see alot with 2.0, does it matter? Are there certain enclosures that are only for Desktops or are they all the same? Thanks.
I think you need a new techmate! USB 2 is the current standard, Any external USB drive will work with either a laptop or desktop. With XP and Vista you just plug it in and wait, earlier versions of Windows will need a driver installing first.
